The annual “Component 1” EEO-1 data are relied upon heavily by both the EEOC and the Labor Department’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) in their administration and enforcement of federal EEO/AA compliance requirements, prompting many companies to use the same data for equal employment opportunity, affirmative action, and diversity benchmarking and self-auditing purposes.
