Earlier this week, in an extraordinary gesture of openness that has not been seen in many years, the Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) published online a detailed narrative explaining the agency’s methodology for developing OFCCP’s most recent compliance audit scheduling list with regard to supply and service contractors.
Indeed, we are not aware of any previous occasion on which OFCCP has made the details of its audit and selection and scheduling methodology public. Nevertheless, the agency’s publication this week of its audit methodology is entirely consistent with the stated commitment by new OFCCP Director Ondray Harris to bring greater transparency to the agency’s operations based on the belief that it will encourage contractor compliance.
