NT Lakis is pleased to present another addition of its “Interstate” memo series, a resource the firm launched earlier this year to help its clients stay better informed on important state and local workplace compliance developments.
The Interstate series, which is still evolving, is designed to complement our periodic state and local round-up series, and on a rotating basis briefly summarize the latest developments of possible interest to our clients occurring within one of three U.S. regions: Northeast, South Central, and West.
Our goal is to publish a new Interstate memo on a monthly basis, rotating through each of these three regions. While we originally intended to cover four regions – Northeast, Central, Southern, and Western – going forward we have decided to combine the South and Central regions. Because we provided a separate Central Region update in March, this memo summarizes recent state and local developments in just the Southern Region on the following topics: Paid Leave (Dallas, Texas); Minimum Wage (Arkansas); Independent Contractor (Arkansas, Tennessee, and Oklahoma); Workplace Anti-Bullying (Tennessee); Medical Marijuana (Georgia); Biometric Data (Arkansas); Pregnancy Accommodations (Kentucky); and Employment Arbitration (Kentucky).
