For employers that operate in California, the state this year is once again requiring covered employers to collect and report employee pay data based on race/ethnicity and sex, with a filing deadline of April 1, 2022. And while impacting only employers with employees working in California, we are reporting this development not only because of widespread member interest, but also because California’s pay data reporting requirements are likely to serve as the model for other states that might consider implementing a similar program in the future.
Please be aware that the pay data reporting requirements, which first went into effect last year and are administered and enforced by California’s Department of Fair Employment and Housing (DFEH), have been revised for the upcoming reporting cycle.
