The 2016 reporting season for Employer Information (EEO-1) Reports began officially on August 1, 2016, with the launch of the 2016 EEO-1 Survey Website. The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), which jointly administers the annual EEO-1 survey with the Labor Department’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) as the EEO-1 Joint Reporting Committee (JRC), has confirmed with us that this year’s filing options and procedures remain essentially the same as last year, except that companies can now test and upload data files themselves instead of emailing the file as an attachment.  According to the EEOC, this change is designed to eliminate the confirmation waiting period that companies experienced in previous years.

As a reminder, filers cannot certify EEO-1 Reports for more than one legal entity at the same physical address if the entities share the same address, NAICS code, and Employer Identification Number (EIN).  These filers will be required to either change the NAICS code to one that more accurately describes the location’s major business activity, change the EIN, or combine these records into one record for that establishment address.

As was the case last year, the JRC is resetting user passwords.  In order to get their new password, users will need the “company number” contained in the annual notification letter, and the email address that was used to file last year’s report.
