The 2019 and 2020 reporting season for Employer Information (EEO-1) Reports officially began this week, with the launch by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) of the brand new online EEO-1 Survey website. By now, employers should have received (or will soon receive) their company’s annual Notification Letter from the EEOC via U.S. mail, which contains a “Company ID” and “Passcode” needed by all filers to log in and create an account. Completed EEO-1s are due by July 19, 2021.
As of today, the portal permits filing only through a web-based data collection instrument, commonly referred to as the “Online Form” filing method. In other words, employers that want to enter their EEO-1 data manually can now do so. As we indicated in our earlier EEO-1 update memos, however, the popular “data file upload” filing method used by the majority of large employers is not likely to be available until May 26, 2021.
