Mike Eastman, NT Lakis Of Counsel, was one of several witnesses who presented testimony last week at the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission’s (EEOC) public hearing on the agency’s proposal to expand the annual Employer Information (EEO-1) Report to collect compensation data.
Mr. Eastman urged the Commission to reconsider its proposal by withdrawing it until the EEOC has thoroughly assessed the utility of the data it is proposing to collect. Recognizing that the EEOC may feel compelled to move forward, Mr. Eastman recommended steps the agency could take to reduce burdens that would otherwise be imposed if the proposal is implemented as drafted.
