The U.S. Senate this week confirmed President Trump’s nomination of William Emanuel to a four-year term on the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), giving Republicans majority control of the Board for the first time since December 2007. Most observers believe that we are now likely to see a major change in the direction of the Board away from the expansionist approach taken by the Democratic-controlled NLRB during the Obama Administration.
And in an important related development, President Trump has nominated management attorney Peter Robb to be the Board’s next General Counsel. Assuming Mr. Robb’s nomination is confirmed by the Senate, he will replace current General Counsel Richard Griffin, a former union official.
