The White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB) has approved a three-year extension of the Federal Contractor Veterans’ Employment Report (VETS-4212) without change. The VETS-4212 is a mandatory report that covered federal contractors must file annually with the Department of Labor’s Veterans Employment and Training Service (DOL-VETS).
Under the federal Paperwork Reduction Act (PRA), executive branch agencies such as DOL-VETS are required to get formal approval from OMB when proposing to impose new information collection requirements or on a periodic basis when seeking to extend existing paperwork obligations. Extension requests typically are granted for a period of three years.
DOL-VETS submitted its request for a three-year approval of the VETS-4212 on November 30, 2017, and OMB granted the extension on March 8, 2018, with a new expiration date of March 31, 2021. Accordingly, we do not expect any significant changes to the VETS-4212 or the filing procedures for the next three reporting cycles (2018, 2019, and 2020).
