The current version of the Form I-9, “Employment Eligibility Verification” (version 07/17/17 N), the form that is used by U.S. employers to record employment authorization of new hires, shows an expiration date of August 31, 2019. On August 27, 2019, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced that until further notice, employers should continue using this version of the Form I-9, currently available on the USCIS “I-9 Central” website, even though the expiration date has gone by.
