Publicly traded companies would be required to disclose their headcount by country and U.S. state if the Outsourcing Accountability Act (H.R. 3624) becomes law. The bill was passed by the U.S. House of Representatives last week on a party-line vote.

As is the case with other workplace bills approved by the Democrat-controlled House so far this year, the bill is not likely to be considered by the Republican-controlled Senate.  Nevertheless, it is one more policy priority that the House Democratic leadership has teed up should political dynamics shift.

A copy of the bill as approved by the House of Representatives is available here.
