The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) announced this week that the filing deadline for 2017-2018 “Component 2” pay and hours-worked data will officially close as of 5:00 p.m. on February 14, 2020. According to the federal court that ordered the agency to collect the data in the first place, the EEOC has fulfilled its obligation to “take all steps necessary to complete the EEO-1 Component 2 data collections for calendar years 2017 and 2018.”
In the meantime, the EEOC has yet to submit a formal request for approval to the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB) to extend the traditional “Component 1” EEO-1 report for reporting 2019 headcount data. Because of this delay, the normal filing deadline of March 31 is almost certain to be extended.
