As the fall elections approach, employers are reminded that nearly half of U.S. states maintain laws that require employers to give their employees some amount of time off to cast their ballot. And although the COVID-19 pandemic is undoubtedly changing the manner in which some employees cast their votes, with a shift from in-person voting to voting early or via mail-in or absentee ballots, these state laws still apply.
