Since 2015, many of the statutory fines contained in various federal laws have been increased on an annual basis pursuant to the Federal Civil Penalties Inflation Adjustment Improvements Act (the “Penalties” Act). Accordingly, we thought it might be helpful to provide a current listing of select fine amounts, along with links to each agency’s Federal Register notice that detail all of the most recent penalty increases. Our focus here is on employment-related fines, although the Penalties Act applies across the board to all federal laws and statutory penalties.
