The Biden Administration’s Department of Labor (DOL) has delayed the effective date of revisions to the agency’s regulations governing tip ownership and tip pools until April 30, 2021. The revised regulations had been scheduled to go into effect on March 1, 2021.

Although DOL provided a brief opportunity for members of the public to submit comments on whether it should delay implementation of the regulations, and we were one of two groups that submitted comments opposing the delayed effective date, the outcome was a foregone conclusion.
