We are pleased to present Volume 4 in our periodic series of “Roundup of Recent Notable Employment Law Rulings” memos summarizing selected federal court rulings that we think should be of interest to employers. Volume 4 covers decisions of note issued since we published Volume 3 in July.
Included in this latest roundup are summaries of cases addressing:
- the enforceability of arbitration agreements;
- sex-based pay differentials;
- liability for harassment by a non-employee;
- discharge of an employee while on Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) leave;
- pay practices applicable to employees called to military service;
- the extent to which documenting requested accommodations can demonstrate an employee with a disability is not qualified for a job; and
- the compensability of time spent in security screenings under state law.
