As we reported previously, the H-1B visa lottery electronic registration system opened on March 1 to employers wishing to employ an H-1B visa beneficiary in fiscal year (FY) 2023, and is scheduled to close on March 18. H-1B visas are issued to foreign workers in “specialty occupations” that require the theoretical and practical application of a body of highly specialized knowledge, most commonly in computing, science, math, and engineering fields.
This memo provides updates on this and other recent H-1B developments as interested employers prepare for the FY 2023 visa application filing season.
