The U.S. Census Bureau has released an interim EEO Data Tool to assist the public in navigating the recently released “2014-2018 EEO Tabulation.” The 2014-2018 EEO Tabulation contains detailed occupational data tables that many companies use to develop labor market availability estimates for their corporate equal employment opportunity, affirmative action, and diversity and compliance programs. The Bureau’s interim data tool will allow organizations to retrieve detailed race, ethnicity, and sex estimates by occupational groupings within the Census Bureau’s Occupational Classification Code (OCC) system.

In a related development, the Labor Department’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) has updated its guidance on the new EEO Tabulation, noting that until the Census Bureau finalizes a “permanent Application Programming Interface for the 2014-2018 EEO Tabulation,” federal contractors are permitted to continue using the prior 2006-2010 EEO Tabulation, as they have been doing now for many years.
