We are pleased to present the third in our series of “checklist” memos providing a step-by-step playbook to assist federal contractors in tracking and managing all aspects of an Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) compliance desk audit. Our new OFCCP VEVRAA Focused Review Desk Audit Submission Checklist follows the earlier publication of our OFCCP Desk Audit Submission Checklist and OFCCP Section 503 Focused Review Desk Audit Submission Checklist.
Although the standard OFCCP compliance evaluation takes the form of a full compliance review, in 2018 the agency issued Directive 2018-04, which provides that a portion of OFCCP’s audits will consist of “focused reviews,” in which the agency concentrates primarily on one of the three equal employment opportunity (EEO) and affirmative action (AA) laws OFCCP enforces. One of these laws is Section 4212 of the Vietnam Era Veterans’ Readjustment Assistance Act of 1974 (VEVRAA), requiring federal contractors to take affirmative action on behalf of certain categories of “protected” veterans.
Our checklist is specifically designed to help federal contractors understand the information being requested in the VEVRAA focused review scheduling letter and objectives to keep in mind when compiling documentation and constructing data in response to these requests.
