The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) has announced that in response to the disruption caused by the coronavirus pandemic, it will postpone the collection of 2019 EEO-1 “Component 1” data until next year. As we have reported previously, the EEOC has been waiting for official clearance from the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB) to begin collecting 2019 Component 1 data, and this delay along with the coronavirus have led to the EEOC’s conclusion that it will make more sense to collect the 2019 EEO-1 data, along with 2020 EEO-1 data, beginning in March 2021 in conjunction with the normal EEO-1 filing period.
