The Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committee has voted to approve three nominees of President Trump to serve as Commissioners on the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), his two nominees to serve as Members of the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), and his nominee to serve as Assistant Secretary of Labor for Disability Employment Policy (ODEP). Committee approval now sets up a good chance that the bipartisan package of nominees will be confirmed by the full U.S. Senate sometime in the coming weeks.
In a separate action, the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Government Affairs on June 10 approved President Trump’s nomination of the Labor Department’s (DOL) Director of the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) Craig Leen to serve as the Inspector General of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM), increasing the possibility that Mr. Leen will be departing OFCCP in the coming weeks to assume a new role in the government.
