The U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) has announced its intent to move forward with a new “Excellence in Disability Inclusion Award” to “highlight successful practices and strategies that have expanded and improved the recruitment, hiring, retention, and promotion opportunities of individuals with disabilities.”  According to a notice published in the Federal Register on October 5, 2018, the award will be establishment- or location-specific, and federal contractors will nominate themselves for consideration.

Under procedures mandated by the federal Paperwork Reduction Act (PRA), OFCCP must first obtain approval from the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB) to collect information necessary to support a standard award nomination process, and interested parties will have the opportunity to submit comments to OFCCP on its request until December 4, 2018.
