In another demonstrable action that follows through on the vow by Acting Director Craig Leen to add transparency to the audit and enforcement activities of the Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP), Mr. Leen has issued a new directive entitled, “Transparency in OFCCP Compliance Activities.”

Directive 2018-08, which we believe will be embraced by the federal contractor community, establishes specific procedures that agency staff must now follow during compliance evaluations of federal contractors, proclaiming that “transparency should guide OFCCP staff during every single stage of a compliance review, from beginning to end.”

The transparency directive is the eighth issued by OFCCP since the beginning of 2018, and signals another substantive commitment to reestablishing the agency’s credibility and repairing relationships with the federal contractor community embodied in the “Contractors’ Bill of Rights” document announced a few weeks ago.
