The Labor Department’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) recently published a report highlighting the activities and accomplishments of the agency’s Ombuds Service, which was established in 2018 by former OFCCP Director Craig Leen to provide a mechanism by which federal contractors could be assured that they were being heard by OFCCP’s leaders and that OFCCP’s regional and district directors were consistently following agency policy. The inaugural Ombuds Service Annual Report contains an overview of OFCCP’s Ombuds Service over Fiscal Year (FY) 2020 (October 1, 2019 – September 30, 2020), its first full year of operation.
As of this writing, OFCCP’s Ombuds Service and its Ombudsman Marcus Stergio are still up and running, and Mr. Stergio has confirmed with us that he expects the service to continue under OFCCP’s new leadership.
