The Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) has relaunched its “Mega Construction Project Program” (MCPP), an agency initiative created in 1989 to promote diverse hiring and equal opportunity among federal construction contractors. The re-launch is driven largely by an expected increase in major federal construction projects following enactment of the massive federal infrastructure legislation in November 2021.
The new version of the program has increased the contract minimum dollar-value participation threshold from $25 million to $35 million. It carries a pledge from OFCCP to provide MCPP construction contractors with free and continuous compliance assistance.
