President Trump last week announced his intent to fill two vacancies on the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) by nominating Department of Labor (DOL) official Keith Sonderling to a term expiring on July 1, 2024, and renominating EEOC Commissioner Charlotte Burrows, whose term expired on July 1, 2019, to another term ending July 1, 2023. If confirmed by the U.S. Senate, Mr. Sonderling, a Republican, and Ms. Burrows, a Democrat, will bring the EEOC up to four sitting commissioners (three Republicans, one Democrat), still leaving one Democratic vacancy.
