The National Labor Relations Board (NLRB, or Board), the quasi-judicial agency with responsibility for enforcing federal labor-management laws, has expanded its reach well beyond traditional limits during the Obama Administration.

In a trio of recent high profile rulings, the Board has continued to find fault with common sense employer workplace policies spelled out in employee handbooks by finding that in each case, the policy interfered with the right of employees to engage in protected activity.  The rulings have direct implications regarding the ability of employers to regulate employee behavior in the workplace.
