According to the results of the 2015 American Time Use Survey (ATUS) — an annual report issued since 2003 by the Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) — the gap between the average number of hours worked on an average day narrowed between male full-time workers and female full-time workers during calendar year 2015 in comparison to the previous year: from 55 minutes in 2014 to 23 minutes in 2015.
This is one of the highlights from the latest ATUS, which tracks the number of hours Americans spend in 17 major daily activities. Our focus is on the major daily activity of “work and work-related activities.”
