The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) announced this week that the filing season for the mandated 2019 and 2020 EEO-1 Reports will begin on Monday, April 26, 2021, and end on Monday, July 19, 2021, providing some filers with two extra weeks beyond the normal filing period to submit their EEO-1s for 2019 and 2020.

For filers that want to use the popular “data file upload” filing method, however – the method used by the vast majority of large employers to submit their EEO-1 Reports – the EEOC has not changed its previous projection that the data file upload method will not be available until “late May,” in essence reducing the filing period for those companies using that method to around six instead of ten weeks.

The EEOC’s latest announcement regarding the 2019 and 2020 EEO-1 filing season also notes that the agency will be sending additional details to previous filers via email beginning this week.
