The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) is working on a multi-phase initiative to “digitize” its discrimination charge processing system.  Phase I of this initiative involved digitizing multiple parts of the charge process for respondents via a “Respondent Portal,” which was implemented nationwide effective at the beginning of this calendar year.

The EEOC has now completed Phase II of the project with the launch of an online tool enabling both charging parties and respondents to check the status of discrimination charges with the agency, without requiring a call to Commission staff.  The new charge status portal includes information about each charge’s current investigative stage and possible future steps, as well as contact information for the EEOC office and investigator responsible for the charge.

The system can be accessed here on the EEOC’s website.
