The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) has released three new “fact sheets” related to pay equity and pregnancy discrimination.  One of the fact sheets addresses gender-based pay discrimination and the EEOC’s pending proposal to collect pay information from employers, while the other two fact sheets contain information on pregnancy discrimination specifically aimed at employees and health care providers, respectively.

The three documents were released in conjunction with the “United State of Women Summit,” a June 14 event held by the White House focusing on gender equality issues.  The summit included announcement of an “Equal Pay Pledge,” a document the Obama Administration is encouraging private sector companies to sign to underscore their commitment to gender-based pay equality.

The three fact sheets released by the EEOC are informational in nature and do not break any new ground or impose new obligations on employers.
