A recent public opinion and experience survey by the Pew Research Center focusing on paid parental, family, and medical leave reveals a number of outcomes that run counter to claims often made by paid FMLA advocates.

According to the study, “Americans Widely Support Paid Family and Medical Leave, but Differ Over Specific Policies” (Pew Research Center, March 2017), most Americans identify paid leave as their lowest policy priority, and do not strongly favor government involvement.  Moreover, it appears that many U.S. employers are already providing paid leave, and their employees are happy about it.

The Pew Research Center has created a webpage for the study.  The full report is available here.
