The Department of Labor (DOL) is requesting public input in anticipation of developing further revisions to its regulations implementing the minimum wage and overtime exemption for so-called “white-collar” employees under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). The much-anticipated proposed revisions, which will be subject to public comments when published, are expected to scale back the overhaul of the white-collar regulations issued by the Obama Administration DOL last year, and which were enjoined by a federal court before they went into effect.

DOL’s “request for information” (RFI), published in the Federal Register on July 26, 2017, is asking interested parties to comment on a number of specific questions posed by the agency, as well as provide any additional information that may be helpful to DOL in formulating its new proposal.  Comments are due by September 25, 2017.
