Under federal law, most executive branch agencies, including the Department of Labor (DOL) and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), are required to publish a semi-annual regulatory agenda that contains a list of each regulatory action the agency plans to take during the next 12 months, along with a timeline as to when the action will be taken.

Covered federal agencies recently published their second semi-annual regulatory agenda, which as was the case with the Trump Administration’s first semi-annual regulatory agenda continues the focus on deregulatory efforts rather than on new regulatory initiatives.

Indeed, to give attention to the Administration’s deregulatory focus across all federal agencies, the President made special remarks at the White House in conjunction with the release of the agendas providing highlights of the Administration’s deregulatory efforts thus far.

NT Lakis attorneys have prepared a guide to selected regulatory items that may be of interest to employers, including those contained in the regulatory agendas of DOL, the EEOC, and the immigration components of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), as well a few regulatory actions involving the Federal Acquisition Regulatory (FAR) Council. The complete updated government-wide semi-annual regulatory agendas are available here.
