As anticipated, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) this week updated its EEO-1 “Component 2” data online filing portal to allow covered EEO-1 filers to begin using the “data file upload” filing method to satisfy their 2017 and 2018 EEO-1 Component 2 data filing obligations. The Component 2 reports, containing pay and hours-worked data for each establishment, must be filed with the EEOC by September 30, 2019.

When the online portal initially opened in mid-July, it restricted users to entering their data manually through a web-based, Computer-assisted Web Interview (CAWI) data collection instrument. With the data file upload option now available, EEO-1 filers have access to all of the filing options the EEOC is making available for filing the Component 2 reports.

To access the portal, EEO-1 filers should go to https://eeoccomp2.norc.org/, click on “LOGIN to File,” and enter the employer’s User ID and Federal Employer Identification Number (FEIN). This information should have been previously transmitted to filers via hard copy letter and email last month.
