NT Lakis, on behalf of the Center for Workplace Compliance (CWC), has filed written comments with the U.S. Department of Labor’s Veterans Employment and Training Service (DOL-VETS), offering our support for a three-year extension of the HIRE Vets Medallion Program, a voluntary program under which small, medium, and large employers can seek government recognition for exemplary efforts in recruiting, employing, and retaining veterans. DOL-VETS is proposing to extend the Program for another three years, without change.
The HIRE Vets Medallion Program is authorized by the 2017 HIRE Vets Act, and gives administrative authority to the Labor Department. DOL-VETS launched the program with a pilot in 2018, and since then numerous CWC members have applied for and been awarded the Gold or Platinum awards for large employers. To keep the program running on a yearly basis, DOL-VETS must get formal approval on a periodic basis from the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB) pursuant to the federal Paperwork Reduction Act (PRA).
