On his first day in office, only hours after he was sworn in, President Biden took unprecedented action to halt, or rescind, a host of executive actions that were implemented during the Trump Administration, many of them dealing with employment policy.

The ramifications of many of these Biden edicts will evolve over time, but we thought it would be helpful to provide a summary of those employment-related actions taken thus far that should be of interest to employers. Over time, we anticipate doing a deeper dive on some of these orders as their implications become clearer. The sheer number of these actions, in conjunction with the rapid pace at which key policy-making appointments have been announced, indicates that this is likely to be among the most organized and impactful Presidential transitions in recent history.
