On his first day in office, President Biden signed an Executive Order (E.O.) that, among other things, required all federal agencies to prepare an action plan for overcoming barriers that underserved communities face in accessing the benefits and opportunities that might be available through the agency. The E.O. instructed each agency to submit its equity plan to the President within a year.
We’ve had a chance to review the plans, and in particular those prepared by the worksite enforcement agencies such as the Department of Labor (DOL), the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), and the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), and we’ve summarized highlights from those plans below. In addition, a few of the other agency plans that we reviewed included some interesting provisions that could impact employment policy, and we have highlighted those as well.
