The Center for Workplace Compliance (CWC) has filed comments with the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB) in response to preliminary proposals for revising the government’s race/ethnicity data collection and reporting standards. The proposed revisions would require the collection of race and ethnicity information using one combined question rather than the current two-question format. They also would add “Middle Eastern or North African” (MENA) as a new minimum race/ethnicity category. If adopted, the proposed revisions would affect a wide range of federal data collection and reporting requirements, including the EEO-1 Report and AAP compliance.
