In what should be a relief to those federal contractors subject to its reporting requirements, the Department of Labor (DOL) has submitted a formal request to the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB) to extend the Federal Contractor Veterans’ Employment Report (VETS-4212) for three more years, without any changes.
The VETS-4212 is a mandatory annual report that covered federal contractors must file with DOL’s Veterans Employment and Training Service (DOL-VETS), and is designed to collect a “snapshot” profile of a contractor’s workforce by protected veteran status, location, and the job categories used in the Employer Information (“EEO-1”) Report.
Pursuant to the federal Paperwork Reduction Act (PRA), federal agencies must get periodic approval from OMB to extend existing information collection requirements such as the VETS-4212. We expect that OMB will approve DOL-VETS’ request for a three-year extension of the VETS-4212 without change.
