The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) this week opened its EEO-1 “Component 2” data online filing portal, allowing EEO-1 filers to immediately begin using one of the two methods that employers are permitted to use to satisfy their obligation to file their 2017 and 2018 EEO-1 “Component 2” reports. The Component 2 reports, containing pay and hours-worked data for each establishment, must be filed with the EEOC by September 30, 2019.
The portal currently permits filing only through a web-based, Computer-assisted Web Interview (CAWI) data collection instrument. In other words, employers who want to enter their EEO-1 data manually may now do so.
However, the other method by which employers will be permitted to file – the popular “data file upload” filing method used by many employers – is not likely to be available for Component 2 data filing until August 15, 2019.
To access the portal, filers should go to https://eeoccomp2.norc.org/, click on “LOGIN to File” and enter the employer’s User ID and Federal Employer Identification Number (FEIN). This information should have been transmitted to each covered employer via hard copy letter and email earlier this week, and was directed to the official who certified the “Component 1” reports that were filed earlier this year.
