According to the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission’s third periodic status report on the upcoming EEO-1 “Component 2” data filing requirement, the popular “data file upload” filing method is not likely to be available for Component 2 data until August 15, despite the fact that EEO-1 filers will be required to file the data by September 30, 2019.
The EEOC’s latest status report was filed recently with the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia as ordered by the court to keep it informed on how the EEOC is progressing towards collecting the EEO-1 Component 2 pay and hours-worked data for both 2017 and 2018 by this coming September 30.
And although the EEOC’s status report does indicate that the outside contractor it hired to collect the Component 2 data – NORC at the University of Chicago – is on track to open the EEO-1 online filing portal by July 15, 2019, there is still no indication as to when the filing specifications for the popular data file upload filing method will be released.
