Following up on an earlier announcement regarding the impact of the partial government shutdown on the 2018 EEO-1 filing period and deadline for submitting completed forms, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) this week issued additional information in the form of a question and answer fact sheet about the impact of the shutdown on agency operations, including information on charge filing and response deadlines.
In addition to confirming that the 2018 EEO-1 filing period will begin in March and that the filing deadline has been extended from March 31 to May 31, 2019, the agency released a fact sheet titled, “What You Should Know About the Impact of the Lapse in Appropriations on EEOC Timelines.” Among other things, the fact sheet announces time extensions for documents and position statements that were due during the December 22, 2018, to January 25, 2019 shutdown.
