By a largely partisan vote with Democrats in the majority, the U.S. House of Representatives recently approved legislation that would create a path to citizenship for so-called “Dreamers,” individuals who came to the U.S. as the minor children of undocumented parents. 

As is the case with several other domestic priority bills passed by the Democratically- controlled House this year, however, the prospects for any further action on the bill in the Republican-controlled Senate remain iffy at best.
