A U.S. House of Representatives subcommittee held an oversight hearing last week on the current policies and priorities of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and the Labor Department’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP). The featured witnesses were EEOC Chair Janet Dhillon, OFCCP Director Craig Leen, and Cindy Brown Barnes of the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO).

While the witnesses for the most part did not tread any new ground, there was some new information relayed that will be of interest to employers, including OFCCP’s progress towards annual collection of contractors’ affirmative action plans (AAPs), plans to conduct focused reviews of promotions for women, and the EEOC’s preferred approach to addressing pay data reporting in the future.

A video archive of the hearing, along with the prepared testimony of the witnesses, is available online.
