Mike Eastman was one of several invited witnesses who presented testimony last week to the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC or Commission) at a public hearing held by the Commission to examine the civil rights impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Rather than concentrate on any particular policy, the hearing was designed to solicit input from a broad array of witnesses on how the EEOC might address the issue, and Mr. Eastman focused his oral remarks specifically on recommended concrete steps that the Commission could take now to provide helpful guidance for employers to consider as they craft return-to-work and vaccination policies. In addition, Mike’s separately submitted prepared written testimony addresses several emerging issues that would benefit from continued dialogue between the Commission and its stakeholders.
