NT Lakis attorneys filed written comments this week with the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB) on changes proposed by the Labor Department’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) regarding OFCCP’s Functional Affirmative Action Program (FAAP) application and approval process. OMB approval of OFCCP’s proposed changes is required under the federal Paperwork Reduction Act (PRA) before they can go into effect.
Our comments support both the FAAP program and OFCCP’s proposed changes, observing that the revised application and approval process is likely to encourage more federal contractors to seek participation in the program. We also urge OMB to instruct OFCCP to make two additional revisions to the FAAP program that we believe will further enhance its efficiency and accessibility.
