The Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) has announced a new compliance checklist, developed with the help of the Department of Labor’s Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP), designed to help contractors assess their compliance with OFCCP’s revised disability regulations.

According to OFCCP, contractors are not required to use the new checklist. The agency also points out that using the checklist will not ensure compliance.

Contractors may find the checklist somewhat helpful in being able to provide OFCCP with documented evidence of the company’s good faith efforts to comply with the revised Section 503 regulations, including the requirements to review physical and mental job qualifications and demonstrate the company’s internal audit and reporting processes. Based on our analysis of the checklist, however, we do not recommend its wholesale adoption.
