The Trump Administration has published its third semi-annual regulatory agenda, and for the first time since the new Administration took office, the agenda contains several new regulatory initiatives that will be of interest to employers.

The first two semi-annual regulatory agendas focused primarily on deregulatory initiatives. While that emphasis continues, the new agenda also includes several new proposals that have not been previously announced, including proposals by the Labor Department (DOL) to revise the regulations governing the so-called white collar exemptions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), and to revise its rules interpreting the “regular rate” on which overtime compensation is based.

DOL’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) has also announced that it intends to publish a proposed rule amending its regulations to limit or otherwise alter the obligations of TRICARE and other healthcare providers as federal contractors and subcontractors.

NT Lakis lawyers have prepared a guide to selected items of interest to employers that are contained in the regulatory agendas of DOL, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), the immigration enforcement components of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), as well as briefly summarizes a few regulatory actions involving the Federal Acquisition Regulatory (FAR) Council.
