The United States Senate this week, by voice vote, approved President Obama’s nomination of Republican Victoria A. Lipnic to serve for a second five-year term on the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). She will serve a term ending on July 1, 2020.

The President nominated Ms. Lipnic for a second term this past July, and although her previous term officially ended on July 1, 2015, under the rules governing EEOC appointments, she has been able to continue serving as a Commissioner pending Senate confirmation. Her appointment means that the Commission will function with a full complement of five commissioners until at least July 2016, barring any resignation.
